A few pictures from the first 2 days in Nyeri
Two goat herders and their brother. We met them on the roadside.
Tim and Fr. JB by our shower. OK, maybe not “our” shower.
This is our coffee maker though. Seriously.
This is the first class of students we met with. So polite.
The are the “Little Flowers”. They live in the compound and cooked dinner for Tim and me our first night…..
This is the “Little Flowers” goat. He used to have a brother. We had him for dinner last night. Seriously. Now we feel we better replace him with another goat. More on that later……
Survival is a way of life here. But they still find a way to smile.
This is her brother. He wouldn’t smile and seemed scared. Until I pointed the camera at him and said “say cheese”. I’m sure he was laughing “with” me and not “at” me…….
You don’t think he was laughing at me when I said I could pick faster than both he AND his sister…….
Or that I said i wouldn’t use my hands?
“sorry Fr. JB, I just can’t take my brother anywhere”
Until just a short while ago, this was the local church.
Common (and we mean very common) methods of transporting the goods:

WOW…my dear brothers, last night your words had me in tears & tonight I’m in even more tears with the beautiful pictures — those pictures speak such TRUTH in LIFE that you are experiencing which is nothing like we live here in the US, right? What beautiful, beautiful faces on those children! I’m so jealous that you are there with the most joyful, loving, spirit-filled priest I’ve ever known… make sure to give him my love (yes, that’s you FR. JB!) On a lighter note, you ate the brother goat? …how rude! :-0
I’ll look forward to seeing more & more postings as your stay in Kenya plays out. My prayers for you are that through those beautiful children @ Little Flower your lives are forever changed thru them & the Holy Spirit… we can all always use a spiritual boost, which I’m sure you’re experiencing. LOTS OF LOVE TO YOU FR. JB, TIM, & KEV!! OH ALSO – Mom says “Happy Birthday Tim”
Oh! What a great opportunity! It would be so absolutely awesome to go to Kenya and see Fr. JB and the “little flowers”. We are envious! We completely agree with Liz, that fr. JB is wonderful…
We will pray for your success there, please ask Fr. JB to pray for us, too.
That’s great you guys. I am happy for you. It seems that the kids are getting much joy from you being there as well.
Continue to have a safe and enlightening journey.
